1Start at village hall on Northorpe Road and turn right out of the car park. Caution, no footpath here.

2At the T-junction turn right on to Eastgate and proceed past Church Lane on your left. Take the following left turn down a narrow lane (again no footpath), and then turn left on to Crapple Lane.

3Follow Crapple Lane to it's junction with Scotter Road, then before Scotter Road crosses the small bridge over Scotton Beck, turn left up a wide track. This is Coffin Lane but it is unsigned. (can be very Muddy after Rain).

4Continue on Coffin Lane past the memory tree for ~1.2 km. Look left for two grey metal gates at right angles. Opposite is a small track into the woods. If you reach the power lines, you’ve gone too far—turn back.

5Follow the track into the woods to a V-junction. Take the right fork over a dry ditch, then turn immediately right. Continue for ¼ mile, then turn right through a wide fence gap and follow the path to rejoin Coffin Lane.

6Turn left onto Coffin Lane and retrace your steps passed the memory tree and back to Scotter Road.

7Turn right onto Scotter Rd, then right again onto Eastgate. Continue to where Middle St joins on the left. To extend the walk ~150m, stay on Eastgate, turn left on High St, then right on Middle St to reach Northorpe Rd.

8Go along Middle Street till it Joins Northorpe Road, turn left and almost immediately cross the road into the village hall car park.
