1Turn left out of the car park, crossing the entrance to Red Lane and walk up to the Swing Bridge Control House.

2Immediately after the Control House turn left following the WC sign, down some steps, past the WC, across a lawn following way mark signs through several gates through a boatyard and out along the bank top path.

3The bank top section ends here and the path drops down nearer to the water. Nearer to the Horkstow Bridge the path crosses 2 metal grill sections over the water where the lower bank has collapsed.

4At the bridge, go up the steps onto one of the world’s oldest suspension bridges. Optional: ¾ mile detour to Horkstow Hall (adds 1½ miles, total walk 4.1 miles). Return via the same route.
