Atkinsons Warren - Flixborough Trail

Start - Atkinson’s Warren car park, Ferry Road, DN15 8JA

  From the car park, enter the Nature Reserve through the gate, continue straight ahead with the boundary on your left.

  Carefully cross Phoenix Parkway, continue straight ahead on the public footpath. Continue with industrial units on the left and follow the winding path uphill, turn left before the bench down a sandy track following the fence.

  Turn left going downhill, continue downhill on a track until a wooden signpost.

  Turn right, follow the winding narrow track, eventually it runs parallel to the mineral railway lines, continue until a wooden gate is on the left which crosses the railway line.

  Turn left going downhill the footpath eventually comes out onto a wide track turn left then shortly turn left.

  Turn left along a wide gravel track heading uphill passing the Chicken farm, continue uphill until reaching the new cycleway/footpath.

  Turn right and follow the new Cycleway footpath which winds its way downhill through woodland to meet up with the bench on the outward journey.

  Rejoin the outward track and retrace steps back to the Phoenix Parkway main road, cross carefully and retrace track through Atkinsons Warren back to the car park.
