Start - At entrance to Julian’s Bower, Back Lane, DN15 9JN

    Enter the gate for Julian's Bower and follow the footpath marked 'Permissive Footpath to Alkborough Flats'. This goes downhill, through a wooden gate continues downhill down through two more gates to reach a track ahead.

    At fingerpost turn right along good stone track, continue straight ahead through metal gate (signpost Whitton 2 ¼ mls) continue in same direction through further wooden gates, continue walking through grassland in same direction.

    When reaching twin set of wooden gates bear left along fence edge heading towards river and wooden fingerpost on top of embankment.

    Walk up embankment slope, turn right continue along embankment gradually going uphill.

    On reaching the road at Whitton turn right and head uphill until past all the houses.

    At wooden public footpath sign turn right, follow track continue along track which bends right and head towards gate.

    Turn left before gate (signpost Alkborough 1 ¼ mls). Continue along edge of field, through a wooden gate, continue along this top track eventually reaching steps.

    Go down steps cross lane and up steps on other side, over wooden bridge, turn right and follow field edge.

    At Public footpath sign turn right, cross road and re-enter Alkborough Flats via steps down, walk uphill between wooden fences to Prospect Lane.

    Turn left uphill and return to Village.

    Bend right to a road and bend right again on a grass path round the Church into Churchside, continue ahead past the Coronation Club to the start.
