Epworth is the birthplace of John Wesley, founder of world Methodism. 
Visit the Old Rectory, the boyhood home of John and Charles Wesley which is now a museum. A guide will take you round the period rooms and tell you the story of how John Wesley was plucked from the fire of 1709 and went on to become one of England's most famous sons.
A short walk, passing the statue of John, erected for the 300th anniversary of his birth, takes you to St Andrew's Church, where John preached from his father's grave after he was refuse permission to preach in the church. Guided tours can be arranged.
Visit the Wesley Methodist Memorial Church, built in 1889 in memory of John and Charles Wesley, with its superb stained glass window. Guided tours can be arranged. 
The return walk through the centre of Epworth passes speciality shops, galleries and boutiques. Stop for photographs at the Market Cross, where John delivered his rousing sermons to the crowds.
